Phase 1 of the Railroad Avenue Improvement project will start on Monday, June 26, 2017. The limits of this project will be between Union Street and Marc Court. Improvements will include installing a new water main along with new customer water services, repairing any curbs and sidewalks which are in disrepair followed by milling and repaving the existing roadway.
The contractor’s workday is expected to be from 7:00 am to approximately 4:00 pm. The ending time each day may be variable based on the actual work that is being done on a given day. At this time, there is no work scheduled to be done on weekends except to address emergency situations. We anticipate that the project will take approximately six weeks to complete.
We recognize that construction activities associated with this project will likely present an inconvenience to residents along the street (such as water service interruptions when your service is changed over from the old main to the new main and driveway access interruptions in areas where new concrete curbs and sidewalks are curing). The contractor has indicated that he will make every effort to try and minimize the inconvenience.
During the course of the project and when construction is ongoing it would be helpful if you could avoid parking along Railroad Avenue during working hours.
