Message from Assemblywoman Aura Dunn:

Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR)

Once again, the New Jersey taxpayer is left on hold and the administration won’t answer the call, literally! Since the governor’s team cannot get their act together, I want to make sure that you are aware of this program and how you can benefit from it.

The program is replacing the Homestead Rebate and is a yearly program. This cycle, covering the 2019 year, will provide credits of up to $1,500 to taxpayers with 2019 gross incomes up to $150,000, and up to $1,000 for those with gross incomes between $150,000 and $250,000.

Renters and homeowners alike may be eligible for the program provided that you have paid property taxes. Online applications are open; please visit the online filing form here. Paper applications are scheduled to be mailed in the coming days. Applications are due by December 30th.

The vast majority of Senior Freeze recipients will not be impacted. A very small number may receive a reduced ANCHOR payment since a filer cannot receive more relief than the amount of property taxes paid on the home.

If you have any questions or need help figuring out how to take advantage of ANCHOR, please call or email my office at anytime and we will help you with the process.
