Brush, Grass, Leaves & Hedge Clippings Collection

REMINDER ON BRUSH, GRASS, LEAVES AND HEDGE CLIPPINGS COLLECTION

Netcong’s Public Works Department collects brush, leaves and hedge trimmings during specific months during the year. Here is what you need to know –

Leaf Collection – Leaves are collected in fall and spring. Fall leaf collection begins in October and continues to mid December. Spring leaf collection begins in April, continuing to the end of May. Pick up days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday depending on your location in town. Place leaves in biodegradable bags only! Only clean leaves are to be placed in bags. Our drop off facility will not accept any other material in bags. Bags  can be purchased at local hardware or home supply stores.

Brush Collection – Brush is collected every Tuesday for the months of April, May, June, September, October and November. Smaller trimmings may be placed in a rigid container. NO BAGS. Large branches and limbs, up to 15 feet and 4 inches in diameter are collected and chipped. Put large limbs at the curb facing the same direction with the cut end at the curb.

Hedge Clippings – hedge clippings are small trimmings from shrubs and hedges. They are collected the first Tuesday during the months of July and August. Place trimmings at the curb on the evening prior to collection in a rigid container with a lid such as a trash can and limit the weight of the container to 50 pounds.

Grass Clippings – Collection of grass clippings begins in April and continues through the early fall months as needed. Place grass clippings at the curb Sunday night for early Monday morning pick up. Grass clippings should be placed in a rigid container with a lid that can be picked up and dumped into a truck. Limit the weight to 50 pounds. Grass clippings in bags will not be collected.

This event is open to all Morris County residents and is an important opportunity to better understand flood risk and insurance options.
