As of November 13, New Jersey’s Drought Status has been elevated to “WARNING.” Since June, NJ has seen 6-11 inches less rain than normal. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:48-2, the Netcong Water System has the power to adopt regulations it deems necessary and proper for the protection of persons and property, and the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare. As such, the Netcong Water department is declaring the following water conservation restrictions:
Until further notice, all outdoor water usage is prohibited. Residents may not use water provided by the Borough’s water system to water lawns, wash cars, power wash, or any other outdoor related use.
The water system is also asking residents to please be mindful of your water consumption for indoor use. The following are some simple and easy ways that you can conserve water:
Turn the faucet off while you brush your teeth
Do not leave the water running while you wash the dishes
Limit showers to roughly five minutes
