The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch and Cold Weather Advisory for Netcong and surrounding areas this weekend. Forecasts predict Heavy snow with mixed precipitation possible. Total snow accumulations between 12 and 16 inches and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch possible. Expect slick road conditions and reduced visibility as temperatures hover near freezing. Please take the following precautions: • Clear streets and curb lines so DPW can safely remove snow from roadways. • Remove all on-street parked vehicles, basketball hoops, garbage cans, and other items that could obstruct the plows. • Sidewalks and Fire Hydrants must be cleared within 24 hours of the end of snowfall to ensure safe pedestrian travel. • Continue to follow winter parking restrictions throughout the duration of winter weather events. Additional reminders: • Garbage and Recycling collection schedules remain unchanged for this event unless separately notified. • Stay tuned for further updates as conditions evolve. Your cooperation helps ensure public safety and efficient snow removal operations. Please plan ahead, drive carefully and only when necessary, and stay safe.
