Planning Board

The Planning Board, which consists of volunteer residents, has the responsibility to guide development in the Borough in accordance with the N.J. Municipal Land Use Law and other State and local regulations. The Board reviews and grants approvals of applications for subdivisions and site plans and hears appeals and grants variances from a strict application of the Borough’s Zoning Ordinance. The Board is responsible for development of the Borough Master Plan and for making recommendations to the Borough Council for new ordinances or revisions of existing ordinances.

  • Today (10/29): Rt 183 SB closed from Rt 206 to Rt 46 for paving. NB remains open. Follow detour via I-80 EB Exit 27A to Rt 183 NB. Local access maintained.

    Please be advised that Route 183 Southbound (SB) will be closed from the Route 206 ramps to the Route 46 intersection today, Wednesday, October 29, 2025, to allow for paving operations. Route 183 Northbound (NB) will remain open to traffic throughout the work. Detour Route: Southbound motorists will be detoured via I-80 Eastbound to Exit 27A, then onto Route 183 Northbound. Local Access: Residents will maintain access to Maple Avenue, Main Street, High Street, Linden Avenue, Dell Road, and Brooklyn Road via Route 183 Northbound. Traffic Control: Flaggers will be stationed at key intersections to assist and direct motorists. Please allow extra travel time, follow posted detours, and use caution when traveling near work zones.
