Morris County residents are invited to attend an upcoming Flood Risk and Insurance Open House hosted in partnership with FEMA. The Open House will introduce residents to updated flood maps and provide information on flood risk, the mapping process, and flood insurance. There will be no formal presentation. Residents may arrive at any time during the event and stay as long as they wish. FEMA representatives will be available to answer questions one-on-one. Attendees are encouraged to bring their flood insurance declaration page, if available. In-Person Open House Dates and Locations: Thursday, January 8, 2026 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM Morris County Public Safety Training Academy 500 West Hanover Avenue Morristown, NJ 07960 Tuesday, January 13, 2026 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Chester Library 250 West Main Street Chester, NJ 07930 Residents can review the preliminary Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and compare them to current maps using FEMA’s online tools. This event is open to all Morris County residents and is an important opportunity to better understand flood risk and insurance options.
