Parks Update

April 1st is the official opening day for the parks in Netcong Borough. However, the Borough is still in the process of making several significant upgrades at each of the town parks. Please read and observe the following updates that are being made that will temporarily affect access to parks and recreational facilities.

AT DIRENZO PARK:

The Playground Equipment Replacement Project is still underway. The old equipment has been removed and the site has been prepped for the installation of the new equipment. The tentative start date for the installation of the new equipment is April 8th, and construction is expected to take up to 4-6 weeks. The playground will remain closed until further notice. Even if the equipment looks usable, please do not use, or allow children to use the playground until further notification from the Borough that the construction is completed and safe.

Additionally, the Department of Public Works will be making some repairs to the entrance ramp for the restrooms at DiRenzo Park, so they too will remain closed beyond April 1st. Once the work is complete and the structure is once again considered safe, the Borough will make it known to the public that the bathrooms are open.

AT ARBOLINO PARK:

The Borough will be undertaking a major refurbishment of the bathroom structure at Arbolino Park. Work on the Arbolino bathrooms is tentatively scheduled to begin in May, but that is subject to change. Once construction begins, the work is anticipated to last approximately three (3) weeks. The bathroom structure will remain closed for the duration of this project. An ADA compliant portable toilet be available at Arbolino Park during the Restroom construction. Notification will be sent when the bathroom structures will be closed and once they are complete.

If you have any questions or concerns you feel should be brought to the Borough’s attention please call (973) 347-0252. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we strive to improve the services and facilities the Borough provides.
