Plastic Bag Ban Regulations

Pursuant to P.L. 2020, Ch. 117, the State of New Jersey now has a ban on plastic bags effective May 4, 2022. New Jersey retail stores, grocery stores and food service businesses may not provide or sell single-use plastic carryout bags and polystyrene foam food service products. While NJDEP is the Enforcement Agency, the Health Department can assist in answering local inquires. Please Visit the Mount Olive Health Department’s Website, Facebook, or call (973) 691-0900 x7354 for any Board of Health related issues.

    The Borough of Netcong is aware of multiple power outages affecting areas throughout town. JCP&L has been notified and is actively working to restore service. The current estimated time of restoration is 7:00 PM, though this is subject to change. Residents are encouraged to: Use caution if traveling, especially at intersections where traffic signals may be out. Report any downed wires by staying away from them and contacting JCP&L immediately. Keep refrigerators and freezers closed as much as possible to preserve food during the outage.
